FPGAXpose 1.5 --------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to FPGAXpose, a debug tool for Xilinx FPGAs. Documentation including tutorials is available from the FPGAXpose Viewer's help menu and from the start menu. It is advisable to work through the tutorials before using FPGAXpose on your own designs. Release Notes 1.5 ------------------- - The Create new bus feature now works correctly. - When reading Block Rams the first 32bits are now read correctly. - Menu options relating to the FPGAXpose core have been removed. - Fix for USB port number selection. Known Issues ------------ - Not all BRAM primitives can be monitored correctly. This issue has been seen with the RAMB18SDP primitives. When the contents of RAMB18SDP primitives are readback the values will always be incorrect. This appears to be a mapping issue where the addresses of the monitored bits in FPGAXpose are incorrect and are jumbled up. Data from standard RAMB18 and RAMB36 primitives can be readback correctly. Prerequisites ------------- ChipScope Pro 10.1i or 9.2i should be installed on the machine. Platforms Supported ------------------- FPGAXpose currently supports the following platform: - Windows XP - ChipScope Pro 10.1i or 9.2i. - Virtex 5, Virtex 4, Spartan 3, Virtex 2, Virtex 2 Pro and Virtex 2 Pro-X. - Cables: Parallel 3, Parallel 4, MultiPro, Platform USB. Installation ------------ The installer uncompresses the FPGAXpose files into the chosen installation directory and optionally creates a Start menu group and desktop icon. It also sets up two environment variables: - FX_CHIPSCOPE_HOME - FPGAXPOSE_HOME The installer also creates registry entries to record the installation directory location and the start menu location. The installation does not modify any existing program installations. Registration Information ------------------------ A registration code is required to activate the product. If you do not already have one, please go to: http://www.sandbyte.com/register.php Support & Further information ----------------------------- Once registered, you can email support@sandbyte.com Release Notes 1.4 ------------------- -Support for the FPGAXpose Core removed. -Support for ChipScope 10.1 added. Release Notes 1.3 ----------------- - The ncd2ll program can now be used to generate .ll files quickly for a large number of devices. These generated .ll files also include the names of the BlockRam instances. This allows the FPGAXpose Viewer to name the BlockRams accordingly. - The device files associated with ncd2ll are now a seperate download. - Ability to dimension BlockRams with different widths and depths and view the associated parity bits beside the data bits. - Ability to export the Trigger Immediate signal values to a csv file suitable for opening in MS Excel. - Ability to specify Big or Little Endian for signals. Release Notes 1.2 ----------------- - A large database of known devices is now pre-installed. - Updated documentation. - Virtex 5 support. - More user friendly error messages. - FPGAXpose can now be used with mixed ISE and ChipScope service packs. - The ncd2ll program is now included and reduces the time required to generate logic allocation files.
